Ry's First Day of Pre-School

Just this week Ry started pre-school! It is a daycare center that incorporates pre-school cirriculumn in it. It was a pretty hard morning for both of us but we got through it :) I called the center to check on him and they said he was doing great! That made me feel so much better. I seriously can't believe he is already in pre-school!!!

I took him to get a donut at Hy-Vee before hand and he thought that was pretty cool!!!

Mattie's First Day of 4th Grade

I can't believe Mattie is already in the 4th grade - WOW! Time really flies by once they are in school!! She was really excited to go back but nervous about starting a new school. Our neighborhood got re-zoned to a new elementary but at least she was transferred with all the neighbor kids! She says she really likes the new school and her teacher!

 Poor Ry was so tired!

Misc Summer Pictures

Thought I would post some pictures of Ryan riding his bike and Mattie riding her new ripstik. She is getting pretty good at riding it! I'm not sure how she rides the thing - I've tried a couple times and it scares me ;)

Iowa State Fair Time!!

Since Mattie was up at the lake during the Iowa State Fair time, Matt and I decided to take Ry to the Fair! He was SUPER excited about going - he asked what the fair was and what fun things he could do there. We told him there were animals to see, fun rides and yummy food! He isn't a huge fan of going on rides so as soon as we got inside, he wanted to see the tractors. We literally spent the majority of time at the tractors :) He had to go inside every single one and there were a TON of them!! He wouldn't even let us take him down the giant slide. He did want to see all the animals though and eat a funnel cake with mom!!! Mmmmm. I think he had a pretty fun time :)

Adventureland Day

My company's yearly picnic was held at Adventureland again this year and the day ended up being HOT but at least no rain!! We started out at Kokomo Cove which was nice since it was really hot out. Mattie brought her friend Josalyn along so they stayed very busy swimming and doing flips and hand stands in the water :) Ryan ended up getting in the lazy river after trying to talk him into it for about 20 minutes. Once he got in it he LOVED it!! We also checked out the new wave pool - it was fun too but a little crazy for Ryan. Mattie and Josalyn rode the Outlaw and Underground. Ryan and Mattie enjoyed crashing into me with the bumper cars :) We had a lot of FUN!!

Mom's Birthday

I had a lot of fun on my Birthday this year - Matt and the kids surprised me with some beautiful flowers! They were wild flowers mixed with roses...I loved the colors of them!! Later in the day we met up with some of our friends at On the Border for dinner and drinks. Matt's parents watched the kiddos for us so we could have a night out to ourselves. It was fun hanging out with our friends again! The following day Matt's parents had us out for dinner - the food was great and dessert was even better! French Silk Pie!! :)
